This bar graph represents the effect of incongruent flanker interference and congruent flanker facilitation in the third age tertile (12.3 to 14.9 years; n = 9 each group). Contrasts between the conditions with and without flankers represent flanker facilitation (congruent flanker condition—no flanking condition) and interference (incongruent flanker condition—no flanking condition). Compared to typically developing adolescents (n = 9), those with 22q11.2DS (n = 9) show a reduced reaction time cost to interference (Mann–Whitney U = 13; p = 0.015) but not to facilitation (Mann–Whitney U = 40; p = 0.965).
