Dlx1 mutants showed trends towards reduced contextual fear conditioning responses after receiving three shocks, as indicated by the mean (±SEM) of percent of freezing as a response to the context (p > 0.05 in all comparisons). The light-pulse-shock procedure was performed three times during the training. Baseline freezing before the training was (or was close to) zero for all three groups.
